New T:BUC scheme for Holywood

10th January 2020

Habinteg is delighted at the start of 2020 to be handing over keys to the tenants of its latest housing development; a stunning new apartment complex in the heart of Holywood.

Church View / Patton’s Lane is a Housing for All scheme, close to the town’s retail, leisure and transport facilities and set to become the focus of family life for 30 households. Housing for All, a programme managed by the Department for Communities, is part of the Together Building a United Community (T:buc) strategy created by the Northern Ireland Executive and aimed at improving community relations. Open to everyone regardless of race, religion or community background, Housing for All promotes safe, inclusive and welcoming neighbourhoods. Residents and the wider community can benefit from a host of fully funded programmes and social activities.

Church View / Patton’s lane brings an area of previous waste ground back into public use, demonstrating the creative redevelopment opportunities in this area. It is anticipated that the project will act as a catalyst for further private sector and public sector redevelopment in line with Holywood’s ongoing Town Centre Masterplan regeneration works. “We are fully committed to playing a progressive, active role within the Ards and North Down area,” said Habinteg Chief Executive, Darren McKinney, “and I am delighted that we are continuing to provide much needed housing such as this new development in the town where Habinteg is based”.
