Margaret Cunningham picks up Urban Villages Award

31st March 2018

Margaret Cunningham, Community Assistant for Inch View and Farland Way, has deservedly picked up another prestigious award to add to her growing collection. Following Margaret's nomination and shortlisting for the Urban Villages Communities Awards in March, we are thrilled to announce that she won the award in the category of Education and Learning at the ceremony in the Great Hall at Stormont, presented by Sarah Travers.

The Urban Villages Initiative is a key action within the Northern Ireland Executive’s ‘Together: Building a United Community’ Strategy and the Urban Villages Community Awards celebrate the people, organisations and places making a difference across the five Urban Village areas in Belfast and Derry-Londonderry. In total there were 30 Finalists, one from each Urban Village area representing exceptional people, places, organisations and projects that are making a real difference to their community across six categories.

This is a fabulous achievement which recognises Margaret's work across a number of our schemes and the surrounding areas, bring a range of health, learning and awareness classes and educational courses to people of all ages.

The Board, Executive and staff of the Association offer congratulations to Margaret on this well deserved award.
