Students of St Joseph’s College, Coalisland, took time out from their busy exam schedule in May 2017 for the public unveiling of the mural they’ve produced at our Platers Hill development in the town.
The 24ft wide artwork, along the hoardings of Habinteg’s construction, depicts the involvement of workers from these shores in architectural achievements around the globe. Beautifully painted by the students, it is wholly fitting that this outward and positive message adorns this particular site where a symbol of the past is being replaced with a vibrant vision for the future.
The transformation of the site at Platers Hill will see the somewhat contentious former police station site redeveloped to provide modern, stylish apartments, with an investment of over £1.8m being made to bring a derelict piece of ground back into use for the benefit of the community. Lowry Construction, the contractors at the site, commissioned the artwork as part of their commitment as a responsible and considerate contractor. We are delighted to be developing these apartments which are due for completion by the end of 2017 as a fitting finale to our 40th Anniversary year.
The fabulous mural will remain in place while work continues at the site, sending out a positive message of a new beginning, of social investment and inclusiveness; of building the future.
