Residents' Forum

We believe that our tenants and residents are the best people to tell us about the things which matter most to them. Habinteg Residents' Forum is a focus group of resident representatives, with Members elected by their neighbours and fellow residents from Habinteg housing developments right across Northern Ireland. Teresa McDonough is the current acting Chair and also a member of the Association's Housing Management Committee and the Habinteg Board of Management.
The Residents’ Forum meets approximately three times per year. Lunch is provided and representatives receive travelling expenses or arranged transport. These meetings allow tenants, through their elected representatives, to voice their concerns and get answers to their questions. The Forum meets with Habinteg staff delegates, to discuss a range of housing and housing management issues. This provides forum members with an opportunity for genuine involvement in Habinteg’s decision making process and in the delivery of its customer services.
In addition to the Residents' Forum, Habinteg also encourages tenant involvement through its Armchair Panel. The Panel allows tenants to have a say regarding Habinteg’s service delivery without committing to membership of the Forum. Armchair Panel members, unlike Forum members, do not represent the views of fellow residents, but they are given the opportunity to comment on Habinteg’s policies and services and complete surveys - all from the comfort of their own homes. Information is received by post and any correspondence is returned in a pre-paid envelope or, if preferred, by email.
